My wife insisted we buy a house about 6 years ago. I wanted to wait another year or two and put some more money together first. Had we waited we would have been priced out of the market. The 3 bedroom 1 bath house we paid $106,000 for in 1999 is now worth upwards of $350,000 - $400,000. There is no way we could buy our house today.

That's what we did - although in our case it was because child care ended costing more than my wife made. Still - I make more than twice what my father ever did in his life and I'm not close to affording ANY house in the Boston area much less and "affluent one". My father was able to buy two homes with his earnings in the Buffalo and then upstate NY regions. I just feel royally screwed whenever I ponder home ownership. ;^) Jim Davis ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Find out how CFTicket can increase your company's customer support efficiency by 100% http://www.houseoffusion.com/banners/view.cfm?bannerid=49 Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:162955 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
