Agreed, but he was never able to get the funding to continue. Mind you given what I've heard from many artists, like the Pini's of ElfQuest, they would not work with Bakshi if he were the last animator alive. Apparently he's very difficult to work with. When Frank Frazetta worked with Bakshi on Fire and Ice, the movie was an artistic success but it was nearly a disaster in terms of everything else.
