Looking at the Kansas designations - some of these (at least in my neck of the woods) look to be necessary, in that nothing really jumps out as egregious. Where I live, there's lots of problems with east-west traffic during rush-hour, and the projects to regrade tracks and build overpasses will be well-received.
The bike and pedestrian path alongside K-10 between Douglas and Johnson counties though...
