Yes but there are certain symbols that are generally agreed to.  For
example, the American flag is a symbol of freedom and democracy to
most Americans; am I being pendantic?  Nope.  Given that the majority
of Ameicans disagree with the Iraq war, Ms. Sheehan is a symbol of
that disagreement if for other reason than she's asking for forum  on
the war with it's perpetrator.
