Have you tried disabling anti virus when download.

Every now and then, Notron will stop me from downloading emails if there is
a large email or attachment.

Opera claims to be deleting the email but does not, so it isn't going
to be a matter of counting the 195th message (or whatever) from the
end. Right now the only solution I can think of is to see how Mozilla
does instead but given that I already have some 55,000 email in Opera,
this promises to but a hurting on hard drive space...
