They had death estimates in the tens of thousands! I don't know what it will work out to be, but I'm thinking the mandatory evacuation saved a lot of lives.
And while it's certainly lost a lot of power, it's still going to drop a LOT of rain far inland. I'm hearing of flood warnings in cities 800 miles north!
