Mt. Angry Evacuation plan. Highwy 27 is the official route out of town in the case of an evacuation. It is a well maintained highway, very stable, capable of handling multi-lane high-traffic scenarios with little concern of overload or traffic jams.
However, highway 37 can be used by more experienced drivers. It is a more scenic route but the single lane limitation leaves it venerable to traffic jams. The mountainous nature of the highway also makes crashes for more likely especially at high speeds. The open source like maintenance of the highway does make it easy to modify as you go especially for 4wd vehicles. Then again there is the horse trail going down into the canyon and following along the river. This is a much slower route but there it is the most stable route out of town as this route has never experienced a traffic jam. There is the added benefit of not needing gasoline. Such a major evacuation will certainly lead to fuel shortages along the other routes. Caution: This route is likely to have an occasional pile of hazardous waste in the middle of the trail. Use of this route is highly discouraged. Of course these are only suggestions. Naturally you can take whichever path you deem best for your situation. After all, you are ultimately responsible for whatever path you choose. The routes that get used the most will likely have the most money spent on them and more access points. If your only means of transportation is a horse or ass your best bet would generally be the canyon route. However, if you think your horse.2 is stable enough for the highway then power to you. Then again if you feel as though your diesel vehicle is capable of maneuvering down the horse path and you are the proud owner of a KDV 500 you will likely have plenty of piles of material for making your own fuel.
