Any idea why I would be getting this URL surrounded by an asterisk on one
side and a carriage return + asterisk on the other?

If I look at the post from Andrew Grosset ("Re: Whadda ya do when there's
nothing to do at work") that's immediately before my earlier post, the url
appears as a hyperlink.  Yet other posts show a URL with no hyperlink and
nothing surrounding the URL.

Strange.
