Very true.  The Prius officially has a less-than-80-horsepower engine 
(73 or 78, can't remember), but the acceleration with the engine and the 
electric motor cranking together is terrific.  It's very quick from a 
complete stop, and it's great in moderate traffic.  The quick speed 
changes drop off once you crest 80, though *
