Dana, I'm very familiar with the Great Pyrenees breed, they are herding dogs,
and are used as such throughout farms and ranches in the United States. Their
size and protective instincts make them exception against coyotes and wolves,
as they are substantially larger than both, and are tenacious fighters when
provoked.

These same protective instincts make them wonderful pets for houses with small
children and other smaller pets. The pyr will accept the household as it's
pack/herd and love them/protect them in the same manner.

Coyotes are scavengers as much as predators, they're going where easy food is.

IMO: Marlon needs to
1) secure anything outside that would attract them, pets left outside, trash,
dead vermin etc.

2) erect a large flat fence around his property, a coyote can climb a chainlink
fence simply would give the animal a ladder.
