I agree with this making guns illegal at this point would create more problems than it solves. We need to strictly enforce the laws that we have. Including background checks (ESPECIALLY AT GUN SHOWS). And really go after the black market importers and gun runners.
Virginia has some of the most ridiculously lax gun laws in the country, you basically have to have a pulse to buy a gun, with the NRA headquarters here no one is willing to make purchasers and sellers accountable to the current laws on the books. Best way to enforce current laws is to abolish the NRA (yes this is inflammatory, but I don't see the NRA as currently serving any other purpose than to be a lobbying group for gun manufacturers) Their "gun safety" programs have been superseded by local and state programs, like labor unions, they've out lived their usefulness. Ever hear of reloading? Any law you make, criminals will find a way to skirt it. Only law abiding citizens will follow the law. What you're proposing is a pipe dream, pie in the sky. If we wanted to work this problem out we'd work at getting the illegal guns off the street and pursuing the sellers on the black market, not putting more restrictions on hunters and sport shooters. They aren't the ones causing the problems. -----Original Message----- From: Gruss Gott [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, December 19, 2005 10:33 AM To: CF-Community Subject: Re: Iran > Kevin Schmidt wrote: > Are you serious? It's not panacea, but it'll slow things down a bit I'd think. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Sams Teach Yourself Regular Expressions in 10 Minutes by Ben Forta http://www.houseoffusion.com/banners/view.cfm?bannerid=40 Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:188742 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
