Yup, I grabbed a busted year old Dell PC, threw a new power source in there,
pumped it full of cheap RAM, installed Windows MCE and now it's my media
power house. I have a complete DVD library that outputs a better picture
than any upscaling standalone unit I've ever seen. And all my music and
pictues are readily available.

What you probably saw was an LCD at 30". There aren't many plasmas out there
less than 37" and most plasmas don't have a PC input. But most LCDs do. The
prices will be going down very, very fast on the 40" and above this year.
Right now, you can grab a Sharp 32" LCD almost any day of the week for $1500
or so at the retail chains. (Sharps consistently considered the best LCD
manufacturer, weird huh.)

You could also hook it up to a DVI or HDMI (with an adaptor/cable) input,
but I would still recommend an LCD over a plasma for computer connectivity,
where as a plasma normally gets high marks for everyday TV watching.

And on a related note, I've finally completed my setup a few days ago with a
Harmony remote. These things just kick ass, period. One remote to rule them
all:

(ebay is your friend - 35% off Best Buy's price for a brand new remote)
