Thank you Nick for your help!

I got it. I just make the users initial remote directory in the FTP program
the "/foldername" of the new virtual directory and its all good.

the root ftp folder is something empty and useless, and i block ftp
from unknown ip's

i think im good and secure and ready to open it up to clients!

w00t!

however, if you could clarify what i asked from your first email that would be
cool, as i might still be doing something kludgy here... as im still not 100%
sure where im supps to be setting permissions... do i do it on the
virtual directory?
or do i do it on the actual folder? im thinking that i need to do it
on the virt. dir.
as thats what ive done, and its working great :)

thanks man.
