sounds like my first car - a gremlin. Still painfully ugly. I abandoned it in the middle of the Rockies during my must move out to BC - actually not quite abandoned. After it finally died after a 1500 mile drive, I just boxed up my stuff and shipped it the rest of the way. I pulled the plates, and tossed my keys to some kid, got on a greyhound bus and never saw that POS again.
