I never said it should be accepted or endorsed. It shouldn't be. In my mind, however, blatantly aggressive retaliatory statements like I've seen here lately do not push back against it - they incite and provoke it. Telling a culture that one of their deepest, most important and cherished beliefs is "stupid" does nothing to prevent further violence. It provokes it.
