Well asside from Lisa's hair (which probably should have been short, blond and tied up in a series of small tails) no it didn't have anything to do with it being unfaithful to the source material. It was simply uninspiring and completely uninteresting... I suppose if watching paint dry is a hobby for you, then I could see why this would be entertaining.
