I couldn't tell you... I've used AK-Mail since some time between 1994 and 1997 (not certain exactly), and at the time it did everything I needed or wanted an email client to do, mostly handle multiple email accounts gracefully (which at the time I couldn't find any other email client that did, and believe-you-me I tried a lot of them -- now it's different of course). And since then I've never found a need for my mail client to do anything else -- the only time I've had a cell phone is when a client has demanded that I carry one, I don't have a palm, etc. so wireless integration does nothing for me.
