sorry, didn't explain it well.  Floating takes the div out of the document
flow similar to absolute positioning.  Having a div below it that "clears"
out the float, will cause that div to reset below any floated divs and
therefore push the bottom of the container div down also.


Jeez, why is it that my explanations always seem clear as mud?
