Plain meaning seems fairly clear to me, you were telling people not to click unless it was something of interest. I wonder if it was a bot that spotted the thread, it must have been. There is no way they can scan all the content where adsense is running.
Google is being very cautious right now because of all the lawsuits and negative publicity around click fraud. I imagine they are doing everything they can to prevent it, and that might include things that go over the line, like having a bot scan content and send out threatening emails. Personally I think the click fraud problem is a fundamental flaw in their business model, but I hope they get it under control.
