No doubt that IBM makes good quality laptops --but they don't have (at least
not in Canada) Complete Care style warranty. For those of you that aren't
familiar --this covers breakage by stupidity... spilling on it, stepping on it,
dropping it, etc. For somebody like me that actually uses her laptop as a
portable computer... it is insurance I appreciate.

Also, IBM doesn't have 6800 and higher video cards... screen resolutions aren't
as high either... and forget trying to get next-day service in-home on them
without sacrificing your first born.

My first laptop was a ThinkPad, and I liked it. It was entry level and cheap
and did the trick. But now, I want to game, do OpenGL development, etc... and
that needs more juice.
