Well, it apparently wan't known by you ;) but it's been out there for several 
years at least.

I am coming into this halfway through, but it seems clear from the wikipedia 
article that the company would have gone bust had it not been bailed out, and 
it most likely *was* bailed out as an attempt to purchase influence. So if you 
are going to hold Gruss to the use of bankrupt as a legal term, it would seem 
he was wrong. On the other hand, he is not a lawyer nor does he play one on TV, 
so why should you?

Bottom line -- the history of that company is no testament to W's managerial 
skills.
