::shrug:: It's resolved. Just another M$ gotcha. Probably were conflicting versions, given the results. But there definitely wasn't anything in the documentation that said warning, this software will do evil things to your computer if you don't have outlook express installed, or warning, system requirements = certain OSes only.
Reminds me of the time I uninstalled Front Page on another box and it hosed the rest of Office untill I found the install CD. I don't think those are results that reasonable people would necessarily expect.
