yeah... what he said. And yes, as an everyday Notes user. It blo-ho-ho-ho-ho-ows. it is slow, cumbersome, counterintuitive. and yes, what the end user sees is completely dependent upon the "features" activated in the template on the server. Also. the Web version of the client is another steaming pile of sh!t. Also slow, also cumbersome. and for whatever goddamned reason, there doesn't seem to be a way for a user to use the web interface to read goddamn encrypted e-mails, from Mother-effing NOTES!!! W.T.F.!!!???!!! And don't get me started on the "Notes doesn't recognize the key from this other notes user down the friggin' hall" messages. Repeatedly. As Luke Skywalker said upon seeing the Millenium Falcon for the first time, "What a piece of junk!" Oh, and one last piece of WTF were they thinking: If one wishes to access a Notes DB without using a Notes client, say, using LDAP or straight queries from CFMX, you can do it...as long as you install the client on the server needing the access. That's right, the one, tiny DLL required to make the whole shootin' match work, is ONLY AVAILABLE WITH THE GODDAMNED CLIENT INSTALL!!!! that's like saying if you want M$ SQL Drivers you need to install SQL Server. Whose wicked cool idea was that? Notes needs to die. Horribly and painfully. perhaps while on fire. or dipped in acid. or both. while being chewed by an alligator. and a sting ray. :-\ -- will "If my life weren't funny, it would just be true; and that would just be unacceptable." - Carrie Fisher ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Introducing the Fusion Authority Quarterly Update. 80 pages of hard-hitting, up-to-date ColdFusion information by your peers, delivered to your door four times a year. http://www.fusionauthority.com/quarterly Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/message.cfm/messageid:216400 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5
