I agree...I'm never one to get a device just because everyone else does, and 
the restrictions you are stuck with when using an iPod are a bit too much for 
my liking. There are some really nice players out there other than iPods, many 
have even better sound quality, battery life and features. I went with a iRiver 
clix...really nice flash-based player with a great color screen that you 
"click" in different directions to navigate the controls. Can do photos, video, 
all types of music formats (including wma and ogg) and also has FM radio, flash 
games and voice recording. They just dropped the price on the 2 gig device (of 
course, since I just bought one a few weeks ago!) so a 4 gig one should hit the 
market soon.
