All of that might be true. But Fox is entitled to take his drug or not take his drugs as he chooses. And to speak or not speak as he chooses. My point is that the nature of the response is despicable.
Suppose that you made an ad in which you said that loss of wetlands cused or greatly contributed to the damage, a view you have actually expressed before if I am not mistaken. And let's suppose that you went on to condemn the Bush administration for not allocating the money to fix this. I am not actually sure that you agree with this part, but let's suppose. So would it be ok in your book for Rush Limbaugh or someone like him to say that what you say in the ad is invalid because you didn't actually lose your home in Katrina and therefore you were exaggerating the problem? Wouldn't it be a more valid criticism that you were (hypothetically) allowing yourself to be used by partisan political forces that were not actually acting in your best interests? See, I think that if what you say is true, it's a valid criticism. Whereas it is *not* valid to say ah, he really isn't as sick as he says he is.
