I go in phases with portables anyway. No DS (yet - but I think "Final Fantasy III" will push me over the edge) but I'll either playing the GBA or the PSP (or neither) for months on end. > I bought metal gear acid, untold legends, and some turn based strategy > that looked cool, with tanks and stuff. I think I also have the Lord of > The Rings title floating somewhere as well. I don't have any of those... We started with "Daxter" and (for my son) "Spongebob". "Daxter" is excellent - exactly the kind of game that the PSP excels in: console games on the go. You really can't tell a huge difference between it and the PS2 "Jak and Daxter" games. "Burnout Legends" is also great - and very close to the PS2 burnout. We waited a while to get it (I don't like to spend more than $20 on a handheld game). "Tokobot" is a really nice little game as well - there's a PS2 "Director's Cut" of it coming out as well. There are several really good games that I would call more "traditional" handheld games. "Lumines" is great (much better on the PSP than in the wonky XBox Arcade version), "Me and My Katamari" is really good as well and "Loco Roco" is the most pure fun I've had in a long, long time. The only real stinker we've gotten actually is "Go Sudoku" (and it's an Ubi game!) Really sucks. I'm also really looking forward to "Oblivion: Travels". There are a lot of games that I'll get once the prices go down as well... "GTA: Vice City Stories", "Lego Star Wars II" (already have the 360 version), "Battleszone", etc. What's really going to (potentially) push it over the top for me is the download service for PS1 games. I REALLY want to play "Final Fantasy VII" (and VIII and IX) again. I'd also like to replay some of the classics: "Silent Hill", "Dino Crisis", etc. Here's hoping they don't screw that up. ;^) I've also been surprised lately - I don't think I've used the web browser on the system once in first year I bought it, now I'm using it all the time. I play "Oblivion" on the 360 for three hours then I'll go to bed and use the PSP to read the books that are in "Oblivion" from the online library. ;^) All told, for me at least, it was a good purchase. My only real problem, with both the PSP and (moreso) my GameBoy Micro is that my carpel tunnel hates them. Some games ("Me and My Katamari" or "Starfox" comes to mind) especially hurt - I can only play for 10 or 20 minutes at stretch before my hands ache.
