I live in a mixed development, some single family houses, some townhouses.
We are at the end of a long road with only one way in and out. The
association sponsors a parade for the younger kids at 5:30 and after the
parade to about 7:00, we get hammered. Its really fun. Everyone is
outside, people sit on their porches and give the candy away, talk and
laugh. Its mostly the younger kids with their parents, some teens. At 7pm,
its pretty much over. I went through 5 bags of candy and ended up having to
borrow some from my next door neighbor.

Its different from when I was a kid, but nice in its own way and definitely
safer.

my neighborhood is definitely nice, but that may be part of the problem...
there are not that many young kids. Teenagers yes, young families no.
