For what it's worth he still picked up his paper at the local 7-Eleven (at least when I worked there 10 years ago). He didn't strike me as elitist. Not particularly outgoing but not at all snobbish. Again - this probably doesn't mean much in the long run, but I've always felt that you can tell a lot about a person by watching how they treat clerks.
