I ran across an article a few years ago that says separation anxiety is a
bit of nonsense and is simply people trying to assign human emotions and
conditions do the thought processes of a dog. They suggested that the
problem was that the dog simply did not know what to do or how to behave
when separate from the social cues of 'the pack', so it just did ..
whatever. They offered several suggestions on how to teach the dog what was
expected of it when it was alone. I don't know how correct they were, but
the suggestions were reasonable and it made as much sense as separation
anxiety. I will try to find it again.
