Ive always thought 500$ was a fair price for a powerful piece of software such as this. Cmon, its about 8 hrs of consulting work on the open market or for most of you proably 2 to 3 working days if you have a ftj.
I applaud adobe for bringing it to such a fair price considering the flex 1 server was ten grand. You can learn lazslo as well if you really must have free. Bottom line, if your company can't swing 500$, then they arent commited. Bottom line 2, if you must buy it for yourself, do it and consider it an investment. You can get a better job with likely more $ when you master it. Bottom line 3, you can still do flex without it.
