I always start a project with adequate documentation in mind.

Overall it would save time in the long run, big picture, to "do it
right" during a project, but the reality is that rapid development is
the bane of good documentation.

I find myself going back later and writing more complex and detailed
documetation after the fact, though sometimes I find myself scratching
my head wondering what a function is really supposed to be doing...

sigh... sometimes it sucks being a one man shop...
