Could you elaborate? RFC 1855 may tell people to quote just enough of a 
previous message to provide contaxt, but it certainly does not require the use 
of a full email addres in that quote. What RFC does require so?

That happens with the  gmail account I use on database related mailinglists 
too. Except in rare occasions where people only have an email address and not a 
name I just strip out the email address. What is so hard about that?
