Evanescence got their start as a "Christian" band (the two founding members met at church camp and a Christian-focused label issued their first album) and, despite the efforts the band has made ever since to distance themselves from that perception, a lot of Christians turn a blind eye to Ev's lyrics so they can feel good about listening to Ev's music ...
