Here's a short version of my computing history and the languages I
programmed them in!

Acorn BBC Micro Model B (Mainly UK market 1982 vintage) languages (BBC
Basic, 6502 Assembler)

Acorn Archimedes 410/I (circa 1988) (RISC OS WIMP environment, BBC Basic
v5, RISC assembler (resembled 6502 a lot))

Commodore Amiga(s) 500, CDTV, 1200. (early 90's) (Blitz Basic 2, Lattice C,
AMOS and an Assembler package I can't remember the name of right now)

DELL 210 286 running Windows 3.1 (crippled version for the 286) (Didn't
program this one - far too slow!)

Various PCs running Windows 95, 98, 2000, XP, 2003, Redhat 5, Ubuntu and a
few other OS on boot CD's. (Various C compilers, VB, ASP, CF, PHP,
Delphi/Kylix, Java and a host of really obscure languges to weird to
mention)

Current daily PC: Dell Inspiron 9300 1Gb RAM 80Gb HDD 17" widescreen (nice
and sharp!) - IMO, it's the ugliest laptop on the planet but one of the best
workhorse laptops of its day.

Next purchase, a Mac :) - I'm so happy that the software restrictions that
have kept me on Windows are finally disappearing!

The Acorns and the Amiga 1200 still run and I get fair use out of them even
today. Some things are just built to work well and with the Amiga having a
*nix based OS, it is fully internet capable on a 10Mb connection so on the
network side of things it's still a useful tool.
