I have found them to be *way faster* than structs.... Although, I've found that wrapping the code up inside a CFC has a tiny performance hit but they are still faster than structs... Experimenting with that, I did get around that performance hit by removing all the type checking in the arguments but the validation is too damn useful to not have it.
