That's absolute bunk for so many reasons:

(1.) A "scholar" reads thousands upon thousands of documents authors,
etc to expect that someone will NEVER slip up and put something in
that's not his is asinine.

(2.) History is the stories of other people and any given work is a
compilation from hundreds or thousands of sources.  This only
exacerbates #1.

(3.) Which of his books contain a significant portion that's direct
plagiarism (>20%)?

(4.) I really don't think Ambrose gives a shit about being considered
"a scholar".  His books, at least the good ones like BoB and PB, are
scholarly works.  They're meant to tell the stories of heroes to the
average person.

But the greatest of these reasons is:

(5.) If you can't see the good that Ambrose has done in reminding
millions of people of the sacrifices of their forefathers then you're
a blind fool.
