It does work TOWARDS a conviction. It is the first statement made to
indicate their MAY be a violation. Such statements are used to initiate
inquires to find witnesses, evidence etc.. Until Monica admitted she
hadn't done her dry cleaning in a year or more their was no evidence
against Clinton. She said, he said. Not much different than what certain
members of the current administration are going through. And I am
convinced that some of them, just like Clinton are lying to protect
themselves and others knowing that it will be difficult to find the
smoking gun.

The difference is you tend to trust and believe them. I tend to think
they are lying and covering stuff up. I can't wait for this
administration to end. I would like someone in the white house I can
support. I liked Reagan. Bush Sr. was ok. Clinton I disliked for the
most part but especially since he's been gone I've really started to
change my mind about him. Bush jr. was ok at first, especially in his
handling of 9/11 , Afghanistan. Since that time he and his cronies have
made one blunder after another and comes across as a bunch of arrogant,
a_holes who think they are above the law.
