Nah. Rent a car. It's a laugh to drive on the left and you are on your own schedule and can go see the lovely country side where the buses and trains won't take you. Especially to little tiny two pub towns. Just for a day. Won't cost a fortune - well, the dollar against the pound sucks at the moment, but hey, it's only money.
Otherwise everything else they said. A walk along the Thames is definitely in order and IN MY OPINION one of the best places to go, is Covent Garden. In the mid-afternoon to about 9 in the evening. Hang out, look thru the stalls, browse the shops, have a drink on one of the balconies overlooking the square, listen to the music and watch the street performers. Stand back and think wow, what was this whole area like 100 years ago ... it's a rush. Enjoy! Wave to all my friends. Erika On 5/8/07, Dana Tierney wrote: > > Central London -- Go see Big Ben.
