No doubt they were in danger. However, it wasn't our problem and they weren't in as much danger as they are today. Don't roll your eyes, don't lose in the Olympics, don't sew the seeds of discontent and your pretty safe. Today you are in danger going to the market, the Mosque, school or work. Dozens if not hundreds are killed, maimed, kidnapped each and ever day. The average Iraqi is worse off today. We need to resolve that before we bring our troops home, Mission Accomplished or not we have that responsibility.
