If they can get here following the rules why can't others?

The excuse is that the paperwork is tedious and takes too long. Well that
must be for a reason. We need to do background checks to see if we want you
here.
Back in the 90's, the borders in Texas were beefed up with 200 more agents.
Illegal crossings dropped significantly and so did crime in El Paso, where I
was stationed at the time. Coincidence? I do not think so. There was a
direct correlation between illegal immigrants and crime in the area. Now I
am not saying that every illegal immigrant is going to commit crimes (other
than the one they committed by coming here illegally in the first place),
but the numbers do not lie.

And I hear you on the school thing. Back in the mid 80's when my family
lived in Ontario, California, my younger brother and sister were getting
flyers in Spanish only. Not only that, but they were learning Spanish. My
mom thought that was odd for third graders. When she asked them how they
knew some Spanish, they said that there are kids who do not speak English -
more than English speaking kids in fact - and so they would teach the class
in Spanish then in English. Well of course my mom had a fit and complained
to the school but her words fell on deaf - and Hispanic - ears. So they
moved to the High Desert where we have better schools than in the Inland
Empire and most of the valley, but most importantly, everyone in that school
knows English and all the classes are taught in English.

Subject: Re: This absolutely takes the cake - Immigration Reform

In 1987 we had a huge amnesty program. Illegal immigration was out of
control etc...

So now we are doing it again?
