A virus/patch box? IIS6 on Windows 2003 has never had a successful hack in the wild.
IIS6 is highly stable and secure. And is run by the majority of the fortune 1000 companies. As for MySpace, I don't know why that is, I do know that they started to move away from CF because of performance and capability issues they had with CF. As For it being the best, just because Bill didn't set out to be the best, it doesn't mean they can't be.
