I dunno...Consumer driven care, as I understand it, still runs into the basic flaw in the US system. Because so many people do not get health care until they are very sick, costs are unnecessarily increased for everyone. Hospitals have to charge $20 for a bandaid to cover their overhead. So while it is probably a good choice for a young and healthy patient, it is not, I think, the panacea you seem to think it is.
I can see a very modest benefit in terms of convenience if I could get an INR monitor instead of messing around with the coumadin clinic. Otherwise, my prescriptions would be the same. If I needed to see a doctor that cost would be the same. A few comments below about your links. >http://revolutionhealth.com >(Steve Case's new joint) I hope you don't think that's a recommendation. The site looks moderately informative, but how is it any different than say WebMD? >http://Definityhealth.com >(the original) I can't find anything here that is addressed to me >http://redbrickhealth.com >(they're a best-plan aggregator) they are a service offered to Fortune 1000 companies -- ie irrelevant to me >http://lemhiventures.com >(they're creating a "healthcare mall" for, say, choosing the best knee >surgeon for you) maybe so but I can't tell from this link, which seems to be a mail server that wants my user name and password ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| ColdFusion 8 beta â Build next generation applications today.
