Sorry - call me an idiot or blame morning brain. I only read "Boston MA,
Winter Street." ;^)

(This is actually a peeve of mine: if it's not IN BOSTON don't call it the
BOSTON CENTER! The same way people say that Harvard is in Boston - it's
not!)

No - of course - you'll need a car to get there. I've been out there -
there is a bus but it's a pain and none too close.

Still tho' - don't drive into the city. Instead drive to Alewife Station
(near Fresh Pond - almost directly East of the training center). It's very
easy to get to from where you'll be - depending on how you go you'll
probably pass it on your way to the training center from the airport.

It's the last stop of the Red Line and a major commuter hub. There's only
one direction (inbound) and you'll go through Davis Square, Harvard Square
and Park Street (all worth looking around) without changing trains.

This is my old neighborhood: I lived for many years between Alewife and
Davis Square. It's a great little place. Davis Square has what there is of
Boston "night life" - check out the Somerville Theater and Johnny D's for
live music:

I saw Vusi Mahlasela, October Project and many other bands there - hit or
miss but mostly good stuff.

I LOVE this place. It features a combination of regular movies (mostly
indie), events and live stuff. This is the place that shows things like
"Spike and Mike's Sick and Twisted Animation Festival" and is the host of
the annual 24 hour sci-fi movie marathon. I also got to see Dar Williams
live a coupla of times here. For the live shows they also have a great
volunteer program: work to seat people as an usher and you get to watch the
show for free.

Just remember if you get on the train at Park Street to take the _Alewife_
train back. ;^)

In general you've got it pretty easy. The airport, the training center and
Alewife are all north of the city - easy drives on main roads with very
little in-town driving. It's crossing from north to south through the city
that kills things.

Sorry again. With guides like me who needs enemies? ;^)
