My very best reception to a presentation was one that had "watermarked"
images behind the text.

In this case we were going to a telemedicine conference in the lower 48 and
I took photos of alaska wildlife and scenery and increased the brightness
and messed with the contrast slightly to make it a light image behind the
text.  We got dozens of compliments on how interesting and different our
powerpoint was.

So, in your case you could just have ONE background image for all your
slides since you dont' want to get too involved - I am thinking a close up
of a circuit board would be great.
