I've seen it, but it's been very rare (and thats with 30 years of growing up
around a LOT of Catholics). Catholics tend to be a bit less fundamentalist
and "fire and brimstone" than, say, Baptists....but they certainly have them
amongst their ranks.

I remember leaving a catholic mass after communion (as I always did when
parents forced me to go to church), and as I was walking out, a guy grabbed
me by my arm and asked me where I was going. I told him I was leaving, and
he told me that hell awaited non believers and he actually used the words
"fire and brimstone" in his little speech.

I was pretty young, but it really made an impression on me...and that
impression was: There are religious nuts just about everywhere, and they are
batshit crazy.
