indeed. Why read them? i dunno. It's a strange thing. I slogged through the first 3 of the HP books. Didn't care for the style, the prose, etc. and i was not impressed at Rowling's skills for pilfering other, better writer's ideas. I decided to give up on them. I read the end of Half Blood Prince and in discussing the book with people who _had_ read the whole thing found that I had read the most interesting bit. My son (who just turned 13) loves the books.
