Absolutely, although I think that each American needs to decide that for themselves; the government shouldn't have a policy of actively hiding the costs be those costs lives or money. Having just seen 1776 it was really interesting to watch the Continental Congress debate whether or not to declare war on Britain. The debate lasted over a year and there were 2 camps: (1.) Yes, it doesn't matter how much more powerful the UK is, we're already at war and if don't fight now we'll never be able to. John Adams was a the leader here. (2.) No, we had a disagreement with Parliament only and it was resolvable. Further war was certain death. John Dickenson famously abstained from signing the Declaration of Independence, but fought during the war. The major tenet as these debates went on was that the colonies had to all agree to fight - the vote for war had to be unanimous. Further it was famously said that if the population did not agree to fight (before or during), then there could be no war. I'd like to think the main concept (since it's what our system of government is based on) was give the people the information and let them decide. That's clearly not been Bush's policy. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Get involved in the latest ColdFusion discussions, product development sharing, and articles on the Adobe Labs wiki. http://labs/adobe.com/wiki/index.php/ColdFusion_8 Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/message.cfm/messageid:238958 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5
