Downtown .. uptown.  bleh.  Uptown sounds kind of snooty.  I believe I used 
both in my last message.

Eh .. Carowinds is OK.  The water park portion kinda sucks, but other than 
that ...

The best thing going for it is it is right in between Rock Hill and 
Charlotte.  Once you get on the Interstate, you can get there in about 10-30 
minutes depending on the direction you are coming from.  A season pass costs 
less than 2 seperate visits, so getting one of those and then just scooting 
up the road a couple of times a summer is pretty economical.  If you pick 
the right times to go, there aren't any crowds either.  More than a few 
times, I have gotten there and found the park to be pretty empty.  There 
weren't any lines for the rides.  I was able to ride a ride, get off and 
then walk back around and get right back on.  Road every coaster at least 3 
times one day heh.  It's pretty nice.  Scarowinds and their Christmas thing 
are worth going to at least once.
