I am not sure that there is a test yet. They may develop one but
having been down the genetic testing path I can tell you it would
probably be expensive for quite a while to come. However, this should
help the medical community come to terms with RLS as a real condition,
and perhaps help point out a new treatment path.

I have not researched RLS more than very slightly (the sleep lab asked
me whether I had it) so I don't know if this is a new concept, but I
noticed in the abstract that there was a reference to iron depletion.
Has any doctor discussed this with you? If not and your RLS is
bothersome enough to warrant you might want to take your doctor a copy
of the article.

Side note, if the sleep lab was testing for RLS they perhaps may have
some thoughts on helping it? Sleep studies are horribly expensive
though.
