Well myself and 2 db admins have looked at the query that throws and error
and don't understand where the error is coming from especially when the
query in the CF page runs fine on CF8/mysql 5.0.17 but blows up on CF7/mysql
5.0.17 and tells me there is a sql syntax error.  Does CF8 have some kind of
"autofix" now ?

It's the best and when properly learned 'you' can recognize format errors
and fix them 'you'rself.
